A multi-use intergenerational community hub located in the heart of Lincoln, focused on bringing local young and old adults together through arts and crafts. Intertwine aims to tackle the societal issues of loneliness across generations by providing an acccesible, accomodating third place for those who may be struggling with low mental health and wish to be a part of the community.
The victorian aged site reflects on the importance of art and collaboration through its dedicated workshops. Users can partake in a range of practices, from woodworking to fiber arts to digital creations. The west facing workshops interlink across the 3 floors of the building, connecting not only the users but the journey of traditional art forms to modern ones.
Celebrations of participants art works and crafts, take place in the double height exhibition space, used previously as a ballroom. A bespoke mezzanine built around the second floor provides veiwing space for the wider community to get involved.
